Course Logistical Information

VIRTUAL Structures Specialist Regional Training -  June 4, 2022

Time:  Saturday 07:00 thru 14:30 PDT with

  • The FEMA US&R StS Position Description recommends that Task Force StS complete this training every two years.  This is continuing education, the FIRST scheduled training for this V7 curriculum.
  • This training focuses on assessing structural behavior of damaged buildings, Task Force interactions during an US&R response, wide area assessment (GPS & Survey 123), use of StS forms, Champlain Tower Collapse case study, tabletop exercises and other topics. 

  • Training mission is to provide 7-hours of intensive training.

Requirements for Attendance:

  • The course will be on-line using Zoom hosted by Michael Barker at the University of Wyoming
  • You will need a computer with the Zoom application, a webcam and audio (speakers & microphone) for interactions and discussions.
  • Several will be asked to volunteer and show exercise results. A scanner to PDF or phone picture and uploading for the shoring discussion will be effective.
  • Some course content will require accessing a link by scanning a QR code with your smart-phone. Please be familiar with and prepared for doing so with your iPhone or Android device. If needed, the following “How to” guidance is offered:

  • A Zoom invitation link will be sent to you via Michael Barker’s email/meeting invitation.
